Brian D. Smith


Brian Smith Mr. Smith was given his first flying lesson at the age of 10 in southwestern Connecticut and started flying on his own at the age of 17. He graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science and a minor in Business Administration.

He built most of his early aviation experience flying over 100 different types of single and multi-engine aircraft around the country. For the past 30+ years he has been part of International Jet serving in many different capacities including: Director of Training & Standardization, Director of Safety, 22 years as an FAA Check Airman, Chief Pilot and President. Brian has over 14,000 hours and 28 years of commercial airline experience flying to over 50 countries and making more than 115 circles around the globe in various aircraft to include: Learjets, the Boeing 727, DC-10, MD-11 and the Boeing 777.

Brian contributes to many charities including the Navy Seal Foundation, Volunteers of America, EAA, the Classic Learjet Foundation, Greater Twin City Youth Symphony and Angel Flight - West.

H. William Wallace Milam, III

William Milam, IIIMr. Milam graduated from San Jose State University in 1973 with a degree in Business Administration. Upon graduating from college he went to work for Wells Fargo Bank in San Jose, California. In 1979 Mr. Milam co-founded International Jet where he has served as Company President, CEO and most recently, Chairman.

Mr. Milam learned to fly while attending college and is an FAA-rated Commercial Pilot. He owns and flies his own Cessna 182RG and is a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA)

He has been a volunteer member of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Golf Tournament Advisory Board for the past several years and has also donated to many other charitable organizations including the American Heart Association, Volunteers of America and the Arthritis Foundation. Mr. Milam served in the California Army National Guard from 1970 – 1976.

Doug Strangfeld - Chief Operating Officer / Director of Operations

Mr. Strangfeld has been involved in aviation all of his life. His career started as an aircraft mechanic achieving A & P, IA, and FAA Designated Airworthiness Representative ratings. While working as a mechanic he completed his pilot rating up to an ATP with type ratings in jet aircraft. He has held positions as Chief Pilot for international corporations and personally bought and sold aircraft all over the world, including a trip to Russia during the end of the cold war to purchase a dozen military fighters.

Mr. Strangfeld is a 4th generation Colorado native who attended Metropolitan State Colleges' Aviation Management program and enjoys all outdoor activities and volunteering at youth ski resort events.

Chad Butzine has an extended history in executive transportation. He joined International Jet after a prestigious career managing Limousine Transportation and exclusive red-carpet events in Hollywood. He brings 15 years of experience in livery service, luxury travel and high-volume Gala event coordination for only the most discriminating clientele.

Aside from his passion for the luxury travel industry Chad has an affinity for everything outdoors from hiking to camping to fly-fishing- he does it all.

Kim Armstrong is our Flight Coordinator at International Jet. She graduated with a Degree in Computer Information Systems and has a vast experience within the luxury hospitality industry. She worked as a Private Jet Concierge for many years, where she acquired the background to deliver bespoke services and seamless travel experiences. She also was a manager that opened Sunset Key Cottages, an exclusive tropical island located off of Key West, FL, that provides exceptional resort accommodations. Kim loves travel and has a passion for Private Jet Aviation.


Christy Edwards - Flight Coordinator

Christy Edwards grew up in the Midwest and attended the University of Illinois in Chicago where she earned her B.A. in Communications. She traveled the country after graduation, eventually settling in Denver to continue her career in senior management with Southern Deli Holdings. Christy is excited to transition into the world of aviation and has enjoyed the associated fast pace and new challenges. In her leisure time Christy relaxes with her husband and one year old daughter in addition to hiking, painting, coffee, and cooking.

Logan Nelson graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a degree in Aviation and Aerospace Science. He also holds a Commercial Pilot Certificate and is working towards a Flight Instructor Certification. In his free time, he enjoys movies, mountain biking and camping.

Originally from Oregon, Justin studied at the University of Northern Colorado, and comes to International Jet as a Flight Coordinator with a strong background in the service industry. With his free time Justin enjoys boating, camping, range shooting, and barbequeing. Justin is also pursuing his Private Pilot’s License.


Sandra Saiontz - Flight Coordinator

Sandra studied aviation at Metropolitan State University, hoping to finish her degree soon and also received her private pilot’s license early in her career. She has extensive experience in luxury air-travel coordinating transportation for the entertainment industry in Hollywood. Sandra has an affinity for the Healing Arts, hiking, camping and spending time in the outdoors.

Sam is a Colorado native and currently a flight coordinator with a love for aviation. He has worked for International Jet previously in the Hangar Operations department and has hopes of flying corporate jets in his future. When he isn't at IJET he is working on getting his flying certificates, rock climbing, or off-roading.

Adam Brown is a Colorado native and as Director of Business Development at International Jet, Adam enjoys working in the community in which he was raised. He graduated with a degree in Aviation Management from Metropolitan State University of Denver where he learned about the vast and ever changing world of aviation. After attaining his degree, Adam was hired on as a Sales and Customer Service Representative for Signature Flight Support. Through his work at a Fixed Base Operator Adam provided services to Pilots, Aircraft Owners, Celebrities and Airport Operations. He is a professional sales and marketing consultant with a strong foundation of Aviation Management. Adam loves aviation and has a passion for Private Jet Charter.

Angela Kia is our Charter Sales Representative at International Jet. She graduated from Western Carolina University with a Degree in Hospitality and Tourism and a Minor in Marketing. She worked at the Bachelor Gulch Club in Beaver Creek Resort for many years acquiring a strong background in both Hospitality and Membership Services. She also worked for the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce in the membership realm helping new businesses off their feet and engaged in the local community. Angela grew up in and around the airline industry and has always been fascinated with aviation business and travel.

Steve grew up in rural Ohio but after graduating from Hesston College he moved overseas to work in humanitarian aviation. He lived and worked in central Africa and Afghanistan for 6 years while holding a variety of positions including, Safety Officer, Director of Operations, and Training Captain.

He's been in Colorado for 5 years and lives in Littleton with his wife and 2 children. When he's not flying Steve enjoys spending time with his family in the mountains and amateur photography.


John Ceimet - Hangar Operations Manager

Mr. John Ceimet has worked in aviation for 7 years as a Line Technician. John currently manages the facilities and oversees all hangar and ramp operations for International Jet. He graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2009 with a Bachelors of Science in Aviation Technology and a Minor in Speech Communications. John is working on his commercial pilot certificate and one day he hopes to fly corporate jets.

John is a Colorado native and he enjoys skiing, snow boarding, flying leisurely and restoring classic cars.


Rod Champney - Director of Technology

Mr. Champney was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. His father was a Cessna dealer and distributor for West Texas and Southern New Mexico and he became immersed in aviation at a very early age. He soloed on his sixteenth birthday in a twin-engine Cessna 320 on a flight from Wichita, KS to El Paso. Over time, he worked in every facet of the aviation business from maintenance to flight instruction and charter.

Mr. Champney graduated, with honors, from the University of Texas at El Paso, majoring in Physics with minors in Mathematics and Accounting. Upon graduating from college he was employed by Farah Manufacturing Company as a corporate jet pilot and engineer. Mr. Champney joined International Jet in 2001 as Lead Air Medical Captain and was Assistant Chief Pilot prior to becoming Chief Pilot. Mr. Champney holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate, Flight and Ground Instructor certificates, and is also glider rated having logged a total of 7,500 hours. He has served as an Aviation Explorer Post Advisor with the Boy Scouts of America, is a guest lecturer at Metropolitan State College, and was a very active referee and Co-Chairman of the State Referee Committee for the Colorado State Youth Soccer Association for many years. He is married with three grown daughters and eight grandchildren.


C. Keith Haines - Chief Pilot

C. Keith Haines is our current Chief Pilot. He has been in aviation for over 40 years with over 17,000 of flying time, nearly all in multi-engine jet aircraft. He is a 1977 graduate of the US Air Force Academy with a B.S. in Chemistry. He had a career in the USAF flying several versions of the B-707. He received a M.S. in Aeronautical Science while in the Air Force from Embry-Riddle . He then did a career with United Parcel Service flying the B-747 and MD-11 aircraft. The vast majority of his flying has been international and now enjoys staying a little closer to home.

He is actively volunteers in his local community with different activities and also with the USAF Academy in different programs for the cadets and with the Academy’s aero club introducing young people to flying. He thoroughly enjoys the Colorado outdoors with hiking, fishing, biking and skiing.


Adam Sherak - Director of Maintenance

Adam Sherak’s aviation career started right after high school, joining the U.S. Navy assigned to flight deck V-1 Division onboard the Nimitz class supercarrier U.S.S. Carl Vinson, responsible for the security and movement of aircraft on the flight deck. During this time he served in both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Post military, Adam joined and graduated from Westwood College of Aviation Technology before beginning his career with International Jet where he advanced quickly to the position of Lead Mechanic and ultimately the Maintenance Manager/Chief Inspector. Adam has over a decade of aviation experience servicing various aircraft including Gulfstream, Bombardier, Dassault, Cessna and other jet/turboprop products. Adam is the leader of the team that won two consecutive FAA Diamond Awards.

When he's not maintaining aircraft, he enjoys spending outdoor time with his daughter and enjoying all that Colorado has to offer such as hunting, camping and fishing .


Odell Isaac - Operations

Mr. Isaac is an Airline Transport Pilot with over 30 years experience in commercial flying and 10,000+ hours of logged flight time. He has held various positions with Part 135 On Demand operators to include Director of Operations and Chief Pilot. He is an authorized FAA Check Pilot on both the Lear 60 fleet as well as the legacy Lear fleet. A dual rated pilot in both fixed and rotor wing aircraft, Mr. Isaac has a deep passion for all things flying.

As the primary liaison to the FAA, his current duties include regulatory compliance with the FAA/DOT as well as the myriad of other regulatory agencies, General Operations Manuals, Operations Specifications, Pilot Training Manual and other documents used to insure adherence to flight operations policies and procedures. Mr. Isaac also serves as the primary Drug Program Administrator and enforces HazMat compliance.

Having lived in Colorado most of his life, Mr. Isaac thoroughly enjoys the Colorado mountain lifestyle and counts hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, golf, tennis and woodworking among his hobbies. He and his wife volunteer with Canine Partners of the Rockies and assists in training and raising service dogs for the disabled.


Della Acevedo - HR Administrator

Della has joined the International Jet Aviation team as the HR Administrator. A Colorado native, she grew up in Fort Collins and has lived in the metro area since graduating from high school. Della obtained a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Denver where she studied cello performance. However, a love for numbers led her into a career in accounting where she has worked in the construction, cable television and recruiting industries.

Outside of work, Della enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as listening to podcasts, keeping up with the MCU, and spending time with her two dogs, Chuck and Milo.


Heike Schaeffer - Assistant Controller

Heike Schaeffer is the assistant controller and started to work at International Jet Aviation in January of 2000.

She was born and raised in Germany and graduated with German degree in Banking and Finance.

During her free time, she enjoys the beautiful Colorado outdoors, going on nature walks with her dog and entertaining family and friends.
