Samual Adams has over 30 styles of award winning craft beer and offers discerning beer drinkers a variety of brews. The company offers free tours of its facility Monday through Saturday. And the tours are a complete experience through the entire brewing process. When you’re finished, don’t forget to sample a few beers. Also, don’t forget to call ahead to reserve your spot on a tour.

Charles River Esplanade

The Charles River is down the street from Harvard. If you cross one of its many bridges you will have a beautiful view of Cambridge and Boston. The Esplanade is where it opens up and where free concerts are held in the summer and free movies on Friday nights. It is an easy walk to downtown Boston.

The 80-mile-long Charles River offers Bostonians and visitors a tranquil respite from the city’s bustling streets. You are bound to see people kayaking and rowing or sailing and even swimming, the Charles is a great place for fitness and activity. There’s also a bike path that runs along the river’s shores.

Harvard University

Harvard University was founded in 1636, making America's oldest institute of higher learning and one of the country's most prestigious universities. Among the illustrious alumni are civil rights leader W.E.B. Du Bois, philosopher Henry David Thoreau, writer Gertrude Stein, composer Leonard Bernstein, cellist Yo Yo Ma. Harvard can boast of seven U.S. presidents as alumni. Take a walk around Harvard Yard, the epicenter of Harvard University. You can sign up for a free tour of the university on Harvard's website.

Bunker Hill

The Bunker Hill Monument marks the spot where the newly formed colonial army fought the British in 1775. Colonel William Prescott, whose statue stands in front of the moment, led the colonial army in the Battle of Bunker Hill -- the first major battle of the American Revolution. The Battle of Bunker Hill Museum is located right across the street, to learn more about this fateful day.

Cheers Restaurant

The original "Cheers" bar—known as the Bull & Finch Pub before being immortalized by Hollywood—is located on Beacon Street and served as the inspiration for the 1980s sitcom. The Hollywood set was modeled after the interior and the building served as the stand-in for the exterior shots. Head “where everybody knows your name” for a burger and a brew.

Faneuil Hall

Faneuil Hall is a must-visit place if you are traveling to Boston, where you can pay homage to Samuel Adams who gave many speeches here. This lively marketplace has been serving the city as a meeting hall since 1742, but today it offers shopping, dining, street performances and even pushcarts featuring the work of New England artisans.
